Amazonas: Oct. 2010 – June 2011
I conducted the bulk of my fieldwork in Colombia near Leticia in the Department of Amazonas. Leticia is the only part of the Colombian Amazon that reaches the Amazon River itself. I chose Leticia for this research because the area was relatively well known herpetologically and had a research-focused university campus. It was also easy to access from Bogotá (direct flights daily), and many friends connected me to those near Leticia that really know the area and its herpetofauna (e.g., see Adriana and Goran, from the Reserva Tanimboca, in the last photo).
